Hunstville/ New Market Outage?
« on: March 27, 2013, 07:40:09 AM »
The Internet is out again this morning. Is this just my issue or is there an outage in the area.

Hello,

All of the signals to and from your modem look great. The modem is online and communicating with us as well. I just reset your modem from this end; if you have a router, please reset that and try to reconnect.

Thanks,
Dallas

I just found out there is an outage in Huntsville and surrounding areas. Local techs and our network operations group are working to resolve this ASAP. I apologize for the downtime.

Mine went out this morning about 4:00 as well (Meridianville). It went down yesterday morning also but came back up after a few minutes.

It looks like this is a fiber link issue to the facilities in Huntsville.  As a primary headend, this is unfortunately affecting other surrounding areas as well.

Do we any kind of estimate as to when service will be restored?

Unfortunately, we do not have an accurate ETR at this time.  Technicians are working on restoring services now, and we should see things up and running as soon as possible.

There is an issue with one of our fiber links to the Huntsville headend. Techs are continuing to work on getting this repaired. Sorry we do not have an estimated repair time.

Is this outage in Huntsville affecting all services? I have no TV or phone or Internet.

Bschlosser,

That is correct, it will cause all services to be out.

I work from home as well, and had spotty service early this morning, with my service going out entirely around 9 this morning. It's still out.
There really needs to be a round of credits to all of our bills...especially since I had to go to my neighbor's house (has Knology) to get any work done after being dead in the water when the outage message on Mediacom's service # said service would be back up around 10 AM.

trapsetpixie,

I definitely understand frustration in this matter when working from home.  I will make sure credit gets applied to your account.

This is ridiculous, for those of us that work from home. I have an eBay store that requires me to ship items within 1 day for anything bought so the Internet being out all day is killing me. I would appreciate any credits and also at least a round about time for a fix please!
