Windows 8 and mediacom
« on: December 28, 2012, 08:51:44 PM »
Sorry if this has been addressed, but I could not find a search on this site :-(
I'm in the initial setup for our new windows 8 computer, and I can't get mediacombb email to work thru outlook.
Please guide me how to configure. Shouldn't be a surprise windows 8 has been released since October.
I have been successful configuring iPad iPhone and android just not win8

Unfortunately windows 8 does not support POP3. You would need to use the web based mail located here https://mail.mchsi.com/zimbra/.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Really so media com is staying with 1984 technology?
Are there REAL plans to support imap or other? ( read sating up with technology )?
Pop is great for singular access but with today's technology just a bit outdated, email on phones, cars, tablets, and desktop. Just a shame if they decide to become more of a dinosaur.

We do not have information on when or if the systems will be updated to IMAP. Currently we only support POP3.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I know you only support what they give you.
Just frustrating as a consumer. Already dropped video services, just another reason to consider another provider
